Bio
Noa Barankin began her way in performing arts at the young age of 7. Today, she holds an impressive resume of performance, choreography, production, arts program management and instruction.
After finishing her Law and Business degree in 2010, Noa's heart pulled her back in to the world of the stage, where she started performing with Tararam, an Israeli rhythm-and-dance company, where she was a member for 3 years. Through Tararam, Noa was cast in the musical "Power of Wishes", an acclaimed Israeli family musical, for which she was also nominated for Best Supportiing Actress in the Israeli Children's Theatre Awards in 2013.
Moving to Boston in 2013, Noa joined the Boston Tap Company, performing locally, and Off Beat Tap Company, touring in MA, NH, CT and NYC. Other performances and shows under her resume are "Time2Tap" (lead dancer and producer); as dancer and choreographer in "The Perfectly Marvelous Cabaret" and "To Be or Not To Be Marilyn Monroe"; TV shows, commercials, independent films, and more.
In 2017, Noa created "DrumatiX", a rhythm based dance company that combines drumming on and with various objects (barrels, buckets, large drums), as well as body percussion and tap dance (and sprinkles of swing and modern too). Noa invents instruments, and uses quirky found objects, some technology, as well as audience interaction, to create a dynamic, "no-two-pieces-are-the-same", high energy and humorous show, titled "Rhythm Re-imagined".
On the regular basis, Noa teaches tap dance and drumming/percussion classes in the Greater Boston area, as well as guest-choreographs for competitions in New England.
Noa's choreography has won several awards, including National 1st place, many regional-level top scores, and National Concept and Choreography awards.
